The College of Wooster's Rachel Molé was a double winner, but her strong showing wasn't enough, as the Fighting Scots dropped their match with John Carroll University, 6-3, on Friday evening at the Paramount Tennis Club in Medina, Ohio.
Molé did her part, with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles, and along with partner Catherine Christian, an 8-3 triumph at the top doubles spot. Also getting into the win column was Morgan Wagers at No. 4 singles (7-5, 6-0). Wagers has been victorious in her last three singles matches.
The Scots nearly picked up another win over John Carroll (4-0) at No. 1 singles, but Christian came up just short in a highly-competitive match. Christian dropped the initial set 6-0, but then won the second 6-4, which forced a third-set super tiebreaker, where she was edged out 10-8.
Wooster's next six matches will take place in Orlando, Fla. during its annual spring break trip, beginning March 9 against Howard Payne University (2-3).
