Wooster Slowed in NCAC East Match-Up with Allegheny

The College of Wooster dropped its North Coast Athletic Conference East Division match with Allegheny College by a score of 9-0 on Saturday afternoon, but there were a handful of competitive results.

In doubles competition, Wooster's No. 1 pairing of Catherine Christian and Melanie Chin took four games in an 8-4 setback.

Then in singles, Lauren Gilliss continued her strong play, but came up shy 6-3, 6-4 in a closely-contested loss at the fourth-spot in the lineup. Rose Chiumento was also solid in defeat (6-3, 6-2) at No. 2 singles, as was Christian at the top spot (6-3, 3-0).

Wooster will play its final NCAC East opponent Wednesday when it visits Kenyon College (9-3, 0-0 NCAC East) for a 4:30 p.m. start.
