Wooster Shows Off Its Depth, But Falls 6-3 at OWU

In a closely played match at Ohio Wesleyan University Thursday, The College of Wooster displayed its depth with wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles as well as No. 3 doubles, but the Battling Bishops wound up prevailing 6-3.

For Wooster (4-12), Ashley Stockwell and Boo Flynn teamed up for an 8-4 triumph in doubles, upping their record to 8-6 on the season, all at the third position. Ohio Wesleyan (9-6) took the top-two flights for a 2-1 lead going into the singles.

Flynn was a double winner, producing a quick 6-1, 6-1 decision over her opponent at the sixth position, which marked her team-high 10th singles victory of the year. The Scots' third team point came courtesy of Erin Bauer, as she earned a hard-fought 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (7-4) triumph at the fifth slot.

This Saturday, Wooster will take on Earlham College (4-5) and Wittenberg University (10-4), both in Springfield, Ohio.
