Chandler Dippman's all-around contributions during a 6-0 week for The College of Wooster baseball team landed the senior utility ace on D3baseball.com's Team of the Week, as announced by the popular online website on Tuesday.
Dippman was unstoppable both on the bump and at the dish for Wooster, which is up to seventh in this week's D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25. The senior's week started with five innings of four-hit shutout baseball during a 12-0 win over Hiram College on Wednesday. In the nightcap, Dippman resumed his duties at third base, and went 3-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, a double, and a home run.
Three days later, Dippman went the distance on the bump during a 15-1 win over Ohio Wesleyan University. The senior scattered five hits in seven innings, and retired 12 of the final 13 batters he faced. In game two, Dippman clubbed his second round-tripper of the week as part of a 2-for-3 game that saw him score twice and drive in two.
Dippman went a combined 5-for-9 during Wooster's two non-conference tilts last week. He scored twice, tallied a pair of two-baggers, and had a RBI.
For the week, Dippman was 10-for-17 (.558) at the dish and had a tidy 0.75 ERA in 12 innings of work.
Wooster returns to action on Wednesday, April 10 for a 4 p.m. home game – that was just added – against Baldwin Wallace University (14-8).
