Rich Blough
Title: Asst. Coach (Diving)

Rich Blough, a longtime member of The College of Wooster swimming and diving staff, enters year three of his second stint with the program and 27th year overall.

Blough, who previously spent 24 years with the program from the early 1980s to 2000s, tutored his charges to 12 All-American certificates, highlighted by Liz Helstein’s fifth-place showings in the one- and three-meter boards in 1995. Additionally, Blough’s divers earned 21 all-North Coast Athletic Conference accolades, in what is one of the toughest conferences in Div. III to do so.

Since returning to the College, two of Blough's student-athletes have qualified for the diving regional championship in Morgan Day (2016) and Aaron Salzman (2017).

A standout diver in his own regard, Blough was a three-time All-American at nearby Hiram College, and won several world championships. In 2016, he was inducted to the International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame.

Blough also has made coaching stops at the University of Kansas, Topeka West High School, and numerous high schools in Ohio.

Blough remains active on the national scene, serving as a referee at the NCAA Div. III Men’s and Women’s National Championships for the last 19 years. He also serves as a diving judge for the Div. II National Championships.
