For the second season in a row, The College of Wooster's Willy Nelson received honorable mention on the All-North Coast Athletic Conference Team as a singles player, as announced by the NCAC office Thursday.
Nelson was the team's No. 1 singles player throughout the 2013-14 campaign, while leading Wooster to its first winning record since 2009. Individually, he went 5-8 at the No. 1 position and won seven matches overall while competing against some of the best players in the NCAA Div. III Central Region. Among his season highlights, Nelson took a pair of tough three-setters against regional foes Edgewood College (6-4, 6-7, 10-8) and Franciscan University of Steubenville (7-6, 3-6, 12-10) and topped NCAA Div. II Bloomsburg University's top player (6-2, 6-3).
The Scots' 10-9 record under first-year head coach Tim Dunford was the program's best since going 15-8 five seasons ago as well as a five-win improvement over last spring.
