Tyler Schuch, who spent time as a starting pitcher and starting leftfielder during his playing career with the Black and Gold, enters his first year on the coaching staff at his alma mater. Schuch will serve as the Scots’ bullpen coach.
One of the key starting pitchers on the Scots’ last two NCAC championship teams, Schuch went 14-2 between the 2016 and 2017 seasons on the bump, and had an impressive career record of 16-5. Prior to earning a spot in the rotation on a consistent basis, Schuch spent his sophomore year as the primary starter in left field, and he hit .371 (36-for-97) in 2015, with 14 doubles and 31 RBI headlining his offensive production.
A product of nearby Triway High School, Schuch was The Daily Record and Principals Athletic Conference Player of the Year as a senior.
Schuch graduated with a bachelor’s in communication studies in 2017 and is currently working in the area. Schuch’s well connected to the College as he’s the older brother of first-year outfielder, Zach, and his mother, Santha, works at the College.
