Sophomore Dan Harwood of The College of Wooster baseball team earned national honors for his big game on Sunday as the designated hitter was named to D3baseball.com's Team-of-the-Week, the popular online website announced on Tuesday morning.
Harwood, who earned the North Coast Athletic Conference's Player-of-the-Week award on Monday, started his 4-for-4 afternoon during Sunday's 17-9 season-opening win over the University of Mount Union with a two-out single to left center in the bottom of the first inning, and his day really took off from there.
Over Harwood's next four plate appearances, the sophomore clubbed a pair of round trippers, drove in four runs, tacked on another single, and drew a walk. The sophomore also scored a co-game-high three runs.
Wooster, which is up to ninth in this week's D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25, next plays on March 12 at 4 p.m. against Keystone College (0-3) in Port Charlotte, Fla.
